Lydia Marshall, aged 22, is a coloratura soprano born in Buckinghamshire. She began her vocal training as a junior at the Royal Academy of Music where she performed as a soloist in venues such as St. John’s Smith Square and Westminster Abbey.
She is in her final year at Durham University studying Music and currently studying with Isobel Cooper. Lydia is heavily involved in Durham Opera Ensemble, having organised their inaugural alumni concert at St. Gabriel’s, Pimlico and performing the lead of Alice in Will Todd’s Alice in Wonderland. She is also a member of University College Chapel Choir in Durham and has performed solos from works such as Christus Vincit by James MacMillan and Miserere by Gregorio Allegri.
Her work experience ranges from being involved with the production team at Opera Holland Park to being employed as a Music Teaching Assistant at Godstowe Preparatory School, High Wycombe. As a result of this she believes she is a friendly and confident individual who is approachable and able to engage with people of all ages.
